The 17th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival comes from May 23 to May 28 to Technopolis City of Athens to give us 5+1 days of a superb jazz experience. According to the detailed program of the festival, the jazziest scene of the city will welcome 17 groups, more than 150 musicians and 3 bands. The festive atmosphere will be supplemented by two important parallel events.
Technopolis City of Athens, joining forces for one more year with the Onassis Cultural Centre, is ready for another unique event. On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 23 , it opens its gates and hosts 3 bands – Military Big Band of Athens, “Voices of Jazz” Athens Big Band & Pinelopi Tzanetaki and “Jazz Around the World” Athens Symphony Orchestra & Spiral Trio – and on the second day, it welcomes with great pleasure the Greek entry, Sokratis Sinopoulos Quartet. Earlier that day, the stage will be occupied by Kadri Voorand Quartet (Estonia) and Amit Friedman (Israel).
On Thursday, May 25, Technopolis will be flooded with music from the Mediterranean, thanks to De La Puríssima and Luca Ciarla's “Jazz Violin 2.0” from Spain and Italy respectively. Dan Bárta & Robert Balzar Trio (The Czech Republic) will follow and the day’s program will close with the much-awaited performance of Samuel Blaser & Marc Ducret (Switzerland).
On Friday, the stage will be occupied by Andreas Hourdakis Trio (Sweden), Ricardo Toscano Quartet (Portugal) και Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet (The Netherlands) and on Saturday, by Marly Marques Quintet (Luxemburg), Miklós Lukács Trio Cimbiosis (Hungary) and Grandbrothers (Germany).
The curtain of the 17th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival falls on Sunday, May 28, with Rumba Attack (Cyprus), Aga Derlak Trio (Poland), Emil, Enver & Friends (Azerbaijan) and Portico Quartet (Great Britain).
During these 6 days, we will have the chance to enjoy Technopolis in its jazziest version, since, parallel to the festival, the place will be filled with unique creations from the bigger than ever in size and duration Meet Market, as well as the annual exhibition of the photography group METAPolis “Loss”.
