The 18th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival takes place from 4th to 10th June in Technopolis City of Athens and promises to offer us 7 days of a magical jazz experience. According to the program of our favorite festival, which has now reached adulthood, the jazz stage of our city will welcome 21 ensembles including a very first participation from the USA that will give a more international sensation to the festival. This delightful atmosphere will be accompanied by great side events and surprises that will be out there very soon!

The 17th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival closed on Sunday, May 28, for the 17th consecutive year in Technopolis City of Athens, with more than 41.000 visitors! Technopolis City of Athens and the Onassis Cultural Centre joined forces for a third time, hosting the longest-standing musical institution of the city with free admission.

Talented host Gautier Velissaris presented 17 ensembles from all over the world, which enchanted the audience for 6 days, marking the beginning of the much-awaited summer concert season.

Technopolis visitors had the chance not only to live a wonderful jazz experience, but also to participate in a varied program of parallel events. The jazziest version of the biggest Meet Market ever filled the Technopolis grounds, being everyone’s favorite stop before or after their visit to the annual exhibition of the photography group METAPolis “LOSS”, which made the best of impressions.

Finally, Greek Instagram Events, on the occasion of the festival, invited all friends of photography to panoramically capture from the Watchtower, the new stop of the Industrial Gas Museum, “musical” instants or other, in order to present their own joint exhibition next year.

More specifically, the stage of the 17th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival was occupied by:
On Tuesday, May 23: Athens Military Big Band, “Voices of Jazz” Athens Big Band & Pinelopi Tzanetaki and “Jazz Around the World” Athens Symphony Orchestra & Spiral Trio. On Wednesday, May 24: Sokratis Sinopoulos Quartet (Greece), Kadri Voorand Quartet (Estonia), Amit Friedman (Israel).

On Thursday, May 25: De La Puríssima (Spain), Luca Ciarla's “Jazz Violin 2.0”(Italy), Dan Bárta & Robert Balzar Trio (Czech Republic) and Samuel Blaser & Marc Ducret (Switzerland). On Friday, May 26: Andreas Hourdakis Trio (Sweden), Ricardo Toscano Quartet (Portugal) and Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet (Netherlands).

On Saturday, May 27: Marly Marques Quintet (Luxemburg), Miklós Lukács Trio Cimbiosis (Hungary) και Grandbrothers (Germany). The varied program closed on Sunday, May 28, with: Rumba Attack (Cyprus), Aga Derlak Trio (Poland), Emil, Enver & Friends (Azerbaijan) and Portico Quartet (Great Britain).

The jazziest stage of the city hosted 20 hours of live jazz and we all look forward to reliving the magic of the festival next year.

The 17th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival comes from May 23 to May 28 to Technopolis City of Athens to give us 5+1 days of a superb jazz experience. According to the detailed program of the festival, the jazziest scene of the city will welcome 17 groups, more than 150 musicians and 3 bands. The festive atmosphere will be supplemented by two important parallel events.

Technopolis City of Athens, joining forces for one more year with the Onassis Cultural Centre, is ready for another unique event. On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 23 , it opens its gates and hosts 3 bands – Military Big Band of Athens, “Voices of Jazz” Athens Big Band & Pinelopi Tzanetaki and “Jazz Around the World” Athens Symphony Orchestra & Spiral Trio – and on the second day, it welcomes with great pleasure the Greek entry, Sokratis Sinopoulos Quartet. Earlier that day, the stage will be occupied by Kadri Voorand Quartet (Estonia) and Amit Friedman (Israel).

On Thursday, May 25, Technopolis will be flooded with music from the Mediterranean, thanks to De La Puríssima and Luca Ciarla's “Jazz Violin 2.0” from Spain and Italy respectively. Dan Bárta & Robert Balzar Trio (The Czech Republic) will follow and the day’s program will close with the much-awaited performance of Samuel Blaser & Marc Ducret (Switzerland).

On Friday, the stage will be occupied by Andreas Hourdakis Trio (Sweden), Ricardo Toscano Quartet (Portugal) και Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet (The Netherlands) and on Saturday, by Marly Marques Quintet (Luxemburg), Miklós Lukács Trio Cimbiosis (Hungary) and Grandbrothers (Germany).

The curtain of the 17th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival falls on Sunday, May 28, with Rumba Attack (Cyprus), Aga Derlak Trio (Poland), Emil, Enver & Friends (Azerbaijan) and Portico Quartet (Great Britain).
During these 6 days, we will have the chance to enjoy Technopolis in its jazziest version, since, parallel to the festival, the place will be filled with unique creations from the bigger than ever in size and duration Meet Market, as well as the annual exhibition of the photography group METAPolis “Loss”.

Following last year’s successful celebratory edition, Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival, one of the most important and long-lived festivals in Athens, returns this year with much music as well as parallel events for five full days.

Technopolis City of Athens addresses its regular open call for the selection of the Greek music group, which will participate in the 17th edition of this successful cultural institution, taking place in Athens, between 24 and 28 of May 2017. The selection will be made by a special artistic committee assembled for this purpose.

Interested artists can submit their applications, including a Curriculum Vitae and a CD or demo of their work, from Monday 6 February until Tuesday 28 February 2017 to: Technopolis City of Athens, 100 Pireos str., 118 54, Athens.
Subject line: Open competition for the selection of Greek participants in the 17th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival.

Between 23 and 28 May 2016, Technopolis City of Athens will once more be the host of jazz music trends from all over the world, brought on stage by music groups that will carry the audience to amazing musical journeys, while parallel festive events will also take place at the same venue.
