Gilad Hekselman (guitar), Petros Klampanis (double bass)
Israeli-born jazz guitarist Gilad Hekselman has been developing a reputation as one of the most promising guitarists in New York since his arrival in 2004. Gilad Hekselman’s fifth album as a leader Homes (2015) is a contemplative experience of the artist’s complex identity in a globalized world. It reflects Gilad’s relationships with his many homes; physical, geographic, musical and spiritual. Homes is the intimate mapping of a young musician on the threshold of a musical zenith, who loves life and love as much as the music and instrument he plays. This imaginary “geography of love” takes us from New York jazz clubs to Paris, Verona, Africa and Brazil. He is joined on stage by the prominent NYC-based bass player and composer Petros Klampanis.
